Here is a story from one of Debi’s kundalini students, who wishes to remain anonymous due to the personal nature of her experiences.
“I was always in control – a coper. Then I broke. Really broke, everything just overwhelmed me and I was drowning. Guilt also consumed me, all these people I was letting down and all control was gone. I couldn’t stop crying, sleeping and reliving vividly all the events I had buried deep down. The CBT I always relied on couldn’t be accessed by my mind – nothing made sense anymore.

More than anything else, the techniques she taught me, gave me the sense of peace and realisation that it was ok not to be ok and it was ok to put myself first (I am still working on this bit!!). Just taking time out in every day to rest, clear my mind and re-set.

I can’t explain the chakras – you will have to try it yourself, but with each one, even as a cynic I had the most empowering feeling and really odd reactions that can’t be explained but made sense as they related to the chakras I was unblocking.
I still have a long way to go, but now I breathe, I stop, I tap, I appreciate what I have around me. I need to take each day at a time and I know I will be ok.
When I feel ready to face the world again, I will use all the techniques I have learnt to stop and take time out for me.”
