Judith Jacobs
I am a Psychotherapeutic counsellor with experience working with adults and 11-18 year olds. I work with a variety of tools to help you explore the issues you have and the underlying causes.
My approach is casual, not clinical and i provide a confidential, safe, non-judgemental, and comfortable space where we can work together to help you reach your goals and understand more about who you are as an individual and enable you to live a more fulfilled life.
I will support you through our sessions and appreciate that some people find it hard to talk about issues that may be personal but we will work at a pace that is comfortable for you.
We all have issues throughout life and it can be hard to talk to family or friends for fear that they will judge you or not understand what you are going through. Counselling with me will provide you with the space you need to reach your goals and find tools and coping strategies to help you move forward during and after our counselling sessions together.

Why i practice is not an easy question i can answer because i guess its never been something i've thought about. Thinking about it now, i don't practice for me, i practice for my clients. Being on a journey with a client you have never met before, who is sharing sometimes painful issues with me, takes a lot of trust and a good therapeutic rapport. I suppose what i'm trying to say is, the satisfaction i get when i work with a client, sometimes for a long time, supporting them through their journey, is a very personal relationship which i have the upmost respect and admiration for and appreciate some people find it very hard to open up to someone they don't know. I work as a counsellor because i want to help improve other peoples lives. Nobody deserves to suffer with emotional difficulties but if i can help my clients make positive changes and reach a happier place, with more confidence, self-esteem and a sense of self-worth, then that is the answer as to why i practice.
