I began my journey in 1978 in the field of psychology and sociology attempting to understand what makes one race of people believe that they were superior to others and ended up opening up a fascinating world that i did not know existed. I put my education to practice while serving in the United States Marines from September 1980 until April 1991, which serve me well and after transitioning back to civilian life, spurred me to become driven to learn everything that I could get my hands on about psychology and sociology. We began doing social and behavioral research, crisis intervention and spiritual counseling, adverse childhood experience and many other disorders, school health for children and adolescents, clinical suicidology, first responder mental health, applied behavior analysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, addition treatment, fundamental neuroscience, social psychology, introduction to neurology, advanced diploma in neurophysiology and neuro-instrumentation, and finally a diploma with distinction in neuropsychology.
All this education and experience has allowed me to create a 4 steps plan for patients to finally experience recovery and mastery of their traumas. Many of my patients will visit our office once for a 3 hours session and then only require specific conversations on specific topics from that moment on. This allows me ample time to help as many as possible without getting overwhelmed or burnt out.
