Growing up surrounded by nature, something is calming and soothing when working with herbs. It brings back the memories of my eternal grandma’s home remedies. Unlike myself, grandma did not learn from the books about plants and their constituents. It was something that came either natural or passed down for generations. Whenever we were ill, my grandma did not take us to the doctor. Instead, she would walk into the forest and bring some leaves, bark or roots and make some infusions or compressors, and some dried herbs were always available powdered to add to the Rapoko porridge.
I was always a great admirer of my grandma and how knowledgeable of plants she was. The community genuinely admired her.
